Many of the new laboratories at the University of Texas Health Science Center feature Spec-Finish®, an extremely durable coated concrete masonry wall system.

The facility provides UTHSC-SA with approximately 200,000 square feet of new research space and allows significant expansion of the institution’s basic and translational research programs.

A Spec-Finish CMU is pre-conditioned and provides an impermeable surface over the entire CMU wall, making the product ideal for laboratory applications.

The South Texas Research Facility (STRF) was dedicated in October 2011 and is the length of three football fields.
